There have been numerous protests from fans and dozens of anti-tobacco groups that spoke out about a well known cigarette company that had plans to sponsor Kelly Clarkson. She has an concert coming up in Indonesia and because of the protests and the controversy, the cigarette company that was going to sponsor Kelly for the event has now pulled out.

Clarkson stated to reporters that she was surprised when she learned that there were billboards announcing her April 29 concert in Jakarta that were featuring a logo from popular cigarette companies. However, the show is not going to be delayed and cancelled and it will continue on. Kelly wrote on her blog that “This is a lose-lose situation” for her.
She also wrote to the public, “I refuse to cancel on my fans.” Kelly also made a point to tell her fans that she is not a smoker and she doesn’t have any intention to promote it. Today we learned from AP through a report that the promoter known as Adrie Subono of Java Musikindo gave a statement that the company has reached a “final agreement” to cancel the sponsorship.
