This week, the latest singles from Kelly Clarkson and Daughtry take the two top spots on the American Idol airplay chart. Kelly's Mr. Know It All is currently a top-15 hit on USA TODAY's Top 40, Hot AC and AC charts, while Daughtry's Crawling Back to You is getting most of its airplay from AC and Hot AC stations.
Jennifer Hudson has the highest debut on the Idol airplay chart this week with I Got This (No. 66). The song also enters the Urban AC chart at No. 36.
Last week, James Durbin's Love Me Bad debuted on the Idol airplay chart. This week, his other single, Stand Up, debuts at No. 80. Love Me Bad picks up a few spins but slips three spots on the chart (No. 87-No. 90).
It's November now, which means that radio stations have started switching over to a Christmas format. As a result, Clay Aiken, Katharine McPhee and Kimberley Locke are back on the air, along with holiday tunes from Clarkson, Carrie Underwood and David Archuleta. Look for the seasonal tunes to take up more and more of the chart over the next couple months.
